"The Journal of Hyperbaric Medicine enables medical practitioners,
researchers, and other professionals in the field of hyperbaric
medicine to keep abreast of current scientific research and clinical
developments in this specific area. Featured are original
contributions focusing on clinical applications of HBO, oxygen effects
on body metabolism, treatment protocols, and protectants against
oxygen toxicity.
The following types of papers are published: Reviews; Original
Research (theoretical and experimental); Clinical Communications
(which may include case reports if they include observations of a
revealing nature); Technical and Preliminary Notes; Abstracts of the
Literature; Letters to the Editor; Book Reviews; Listings of Courses;
Meetings, and Conferences, and Other Special Features. Reports of
workshops or symposia will be considered and may even be published as
supplements to regular issues. Authors are referred to Instructions
for Authors for more details on the categories of their papers.
The Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, Inc., endorses the
principles embodied in the Declaration of Helsinki and expects that
all investigations involving man reported in its journal will have
been conducted in conformity with these principles. The Society also
expects that the 'Guiding Principles in the Care and Use of Animals'
will have been observed in all animal experimentation reported in its
