The Rubicon Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
undertaking projects that:
- Contribute to the interdependent dynamic between research, exploration, science and education;
- Improve the available resources for students, professionals and the general public; and
- Preserve the valuable natural resources that are vital to future endeavors.
Collaboration enhances outcomes by combining independent efforts to
form a single force working toward the realization of common goals. The Rubicon Foundation is
building a solid network of collaborators — public and private businesses, non-profit
organizations, government entities and philanthropists.
Contribution
Exploration and research are the genesis of scientific explanation.
The Rubicon Foundation initiates projects that contribute to the expansion of human understanding.
Improvement
The widespread availability of technologies such as the internet
translates into an opportunity to reach an international audience. In today’s world we are able
to witness the evolution of human exploration from the depths of the ocean to the edges of the
known universe. We are able to share the experience of the unknown transforming into the
understood. The Rubicon Foundation incorporates technology into projects that benefit from
extended capabilities and availability. Through our educational and electronic library projects,
we create a ripple effect that will develop tomorrow’s leaders. We provide resources to an
international audience through the incorporation of neoteric methods. Electronic libraries and
internet-based tools provide an unlimited potential for sharing knowledge, recent discoveries,
current pursuits and effective outcomes.
Preservation
Our environment is a global system — ocean, land and sky are
interconnected. Destruction and damage is not limited to an isolated area nor is it an independent
loss. The Rubicon Foundation strives to find balance between human demands and ecosystem
preservation. To this end we pursue projects that expand mankind’s understanding and knowledge of
our environment. We also undertake efforts to identify threats to ecosystems and to develop
approaches that minimize the negative impact of human interactions. Our solutions address the root
cause and, therefore, provide viable options that broaden the benefits that are realized in protected
areas.
